Make Mine Beef

 

Hello! I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted but I am very excited to be bringing you this post. I have teamed up with Brooke at The Beef Boutique and she has been awesome in supporting me.  I’ve followed Brooke for a while now and she has these awesome hats saying “Make Mine Beef”. To all the ranchers out there; this message has to warm your heart and from now on you can find me proudly sporting this hat. But I also find the “Make Mine Beef” message very fitting during the new year.

The new year is when we get to make our resolutions for the upcoming year. We decide what we want to change and how our year is going to be different than the previous one. Often times New Years resolutions sound something like this:”This year I am going to lose X amount of pounds” or “This year I am going to get in shape” or “This year I am going to become healthier”. If your resolution has to deal with any of these topics I totally get it. Eating and being healthy is very important to me too; which is why I choose to eat beef EVERYDAY! That’s right, every single day! (Sometimes twice a day if we are being honest)

Now you might be wondering why I choose to add beef into my healthy meal choices. I urge you to keep reading to find out!

Beef is a great source of protein, which is important for muscle building. A 3 ounce serving of lean beef provided 25 grams of protein! Now I know there are other foods that provide protein but when we look at the caloric values of other protein sources it looks like beef is a solid choice! Not only does beef provide protein, but beef is a great source of vitamins and minerals. That’s right folks! You can get vitamins and minerals from more than just fruits and veggies. I’m talking about Vitamin B12 and B6, selenium, zinc, niacin, phosphorus, choline, iron, and riboflavin.

Now let’s talk about our ticker. We all have one and your heart is what keeps you alive. (Important, right?!) Did you know that 9 cuts of beef make the cut for the American Heart Association Heart Healthy Foods Check program.

If I don’t have you convinced that beef can help you achieve your health goals can we pause for just a minute and talk about taste? I don’t know about you, but I love the rich and flavorful taste of beef. To me nothing satisfies like beef. I know whether I am out to eat or meal prepping at home I ALWAYS choose to “Make Mine Beef.”
